Ahwoi’s book addresses personal problems; can’t affect NDC’s fortunes

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Asiedu Nketia believes that the book by Professor Kwamena Ahwoi addresses only personal issues and can not have an adverse effect on the party’s electoral campaign in 2020.

Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi this month launched his book “Working with Rawlings” which chronicles his working relationship with the former President of Ghana.

The book provides evidence of some happenings in the past which people suspected happened but did not have evidence to back their claims but has also received backlash from some personalities mentioned in there for some factual inaccuracies.

Some Political analysts insists that the book may affect the NDC considering the fact that it has diverted attention from its party ticket for the election and has brought the former President who has not much role to play to the center of discussions.

But speaking on Accra-based Citi TV in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Asiedu Nketia insisted that the book will not affect the NDC adversely.

According to him, the book addresses personal issues and not issues bothering the party so there is no way the book will have any effect on the campaign for the 2020 elections.

He said “I don’t see how what somebody has written as his personal account and experience with the founder of our party, would generate this amount of controversy. And even if that controversy is raging, I don’t see how it comes to affect our elections. Who said people don’t attack each other in all parties? If it is about issues relating to the party, fine. But if it is about personal issues, I don’t see how it comes to affect our campaign at all”.
