The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended its condolences to Division One League club, New Edubiase FC following the death of its player Abdul Malik Issah Yakubu.

According to the GFA, Yakubu died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi after he was knocked down by a motorcycle while jogging on Friday morning.

He is expected to buried today in accordance with his Islamic faith.

“The Ghana Football Association has learnt with sadness the passing of Andul Malik Issah Yakubu, a player of New Edubiase FC, who died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi after he was knocked down by a motorcycle while jogging this morning,” the GFA said in a tweet.

“We extend our sincere condolences to New Edubiase FC for this sad loss, as well as to the family of the player. May God comfort them in this difficult period”.
