Kwahu Nkwatia (E/R),
March 28, GNA – The 1986/88-year groups of the St. Peter’s Senior High School
have donated items worth over Gh¢3,000.00 and cash of Gh¢2,000.00 to the Bless
the Children International Home, an orphanage at Nkwatia in the Kwahu East
District.

Among the items were
bags of rice and sugar, tubers of yam and cooking oil, first aid kits,
toiletries, stationeries and rubber buckets.

Dr Richard Gyimah, the
President of the year groups, said the gesture formed part of the Association’s
social responsibility of giving back to society and assisting the needy and
vulnerable.

He said the
Association planned to support the Home to improve the quality of life of the
children.

That, he said, was to
help develop their potentials to enable them to become responsible citizens to
society and the country as a whole.

Aside the benevolence,
he said, the groups had also supported their Alma mater by renovating and
providing toilet facility for the Sick Bay to serve students who patronised the
place.

Dr Gyimah said plans
were underway to adopt the School’s Volley Ball Court to help in its
maintenance to promote sporting activities.

Members would be
meeting from time to time to deliberate on challenges facing their Alma mater
to see how best they could contribute to resolving them, he said.

He, therefore, called
on other old boys of the School to join the Association so effectively support
the development of their Alma mater.
