WEEK Starter: These 3 touching pictures of Dr. BAWUMIA and LEPERS will warm your heart with love this week

Three pictures of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and a group of cure lepers are going viral because social media users say the pictures are very touching.

The Vice President met the cured lepers where he extolled the virtues of unconditional love preached by almost all religions that we show love for all people no matter who they are, what situation they are in or which God they worship. He hosted the scores of cured Lepers from across the country to a beautiful dinner at his residence in Accra.

The Vice President who is also the patron of Lepers Aid Ghana was assisted by the 2nd Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia as they danced, sang and served food to the over 100 cured lepers, drawn from the Weija, Ho and Ankaful Leprosariums, in his ongoing quest to dispel the stigma suffered by victims of the debilitating disease.

The Veep was seen cracking jokes and playing with the cured lepers who were full of laughter as cameras flicked off the moments.

The pictures taken from the occasion has since gone viral with three of them standing out as the Vice President embraced and greeted a happy leper who has held the Vice President tight in an arm embrace.

In brief comments, Vice President Bawumia emphasised that there was nothing to fear from a cured leper, and called for greater compassion and understanding for “our mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters who have been abandoned by society even though they are cured.”

“The Bible and every other religious doctrine teaches us to love thy neighbour as thy self. We need to let this reflect in our daily lives, especially in the way we treat our vulnerable brothers and sisters. You can never tell when you will be struck by ill health, and if you don’t want to be abandoned in your time of need, this is the time to help those in need”, he underscored.

Recalling his visit to the Weija Leprosarium at Christmas time last year, during which he offered himself as a Patron of the Lepers Aid Ghana, Vice President Bawumia called for greater societal integration for all sections of society, pointing out that everyone has a role to play in national development.
