Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mike Ocquaye has shown support for the Black Queens by donating GH¢50,000 to the squad ahead of the start of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The gesture was made when the team paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the legislative house Friday.
Ghana are hosts of the 11th edition of the competition and are scheduled to kick-start their campaign against Algeria on Saturday.
In related news, Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah and the GFA Normalization Committee also met the Black Queens at their team camp to remind them of their unflinching support in the host and win agenda.
Ghana will complete their games in Group A with ties against Mali and Cameroon at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s kickoff is at 15:30 GMT.
